Principal Solutions Architect, Strategic Accounts

As an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Principal Solutions Architect within the Strategic Accounts segment, you are responsible for partnering with our most valuable customers to design cloud architectures using AWS services. In this role, you will help customers solve business challenges such as rapidly releasing products / services to the market or building an elastic, scalable, cost‑optimized application.

You will engage product owners to influence product direction and help customers tap into new markets by utilizing AWS Services. You will also look for patterns and trends that can be broadly applied across an industry segment or a set of customers that can help accelerate innovation. Along the way, you will get the opportunity to enhance your own body of knowledge and have some fun.

As a core member of the account team, you will drive AWS usage and adoption across a specific customer. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand and implement advanced cloud‑based solutions, and how to migrate and scale existing workloads in the cloud. You will shape and execute a strategy to build knowledge and broad use of AWS. You will also need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other teams within AWS such as services teams, marketing and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Work on the most complex customer challenges and opportunities, leading the development of strategy and the solutions architecture team.
• Combine a market perspective with emerging technology trends to accelerate innovation across your customer segment.
• Act as an external thought leader, influencing customer strategy and sharing best practices through presentations, white papers, blogs and workshops.
• Share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for the AWS platform, proactively working within AWS to shape platform evolution.
• Serve as a key technical member of the Solutions Architecture team, influencing decision makers across multiple domains to ensure customer success in building applications on the AWS platform.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay for this position ranges from $164,500 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $284,300 per year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills and experience. Other compensation, such as equity, sign‑on payments and benefits, may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
