Quality Control Manager
We are currently hiring an experienced Quality Control Manager (QCM) to join a dedicated team for a project at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), focusing on a $45M hanger renovation. This role offers a manageable position with opportunities for future projects. A QCM certification is required along with two plus years of experience as a Quality Control Manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project-specific quality control strategies.
- Inspect and evaluate the work area according to plans, specifications, and contract documents, reporting deficiencies and escalating issues to ensure safety and quality.
- Develop, gather, maintain, and submit work plans, submittals, and reports.
- Ensure subcontractors are aware of all project quality control standards.
- Conduct a three-phase inspection program, including Preparatory Meetings and Reports, Initial Phase Inspections and Reports, Follow-up Inspections and Reports, and Final Phase Inspections.
- Lead and document quality control meetings with the project team and customers, providing written minutes.
- Provide daily quality control reports to ensure timely achievement of desired quality outcomes.
- Verify and document that all materials / equipment received for the project conform with approved submittals and are handled, stored, and used appropriately.
- Review as-built drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to contract drawings.
- Review the Job Site Safety Plan and conduct safety inspections.
- Stop work, reject materials / equipment, and direct the removal and replacement of non-compliant work.
- Communicate effectively as a team member with all trades, manufacturers, suppliers, construction staff, and customer representatives.
Essential Skills
Active QCM certification with 2+ years experience as a Quality Control Manager.Experience working on Federal Construction projects.Current OSHA 30, First Aid / CPR, and USACE Construction Quality Control Management certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, or a related field from an accredited university preferred.Minimum of 5 years experience in programs of similar size and scope.Exceptional communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and subcontractors.Strong verbal communication skills and ability to resolve conflict.Excellent listening skills and detailed documentation.Security clearance for federal projects required.Valid driver's license.CQC experience preferred.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00 / hr.
