Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an RN Trauma Ortho / Neuro Med Surg for a top Healthcare client.
This specialized nursing role delivers high-quality, direct patient care on a Medical-Surgical unit, focusing on complex cases involving trauma, orthopedic, and neurological conditions. The RN is responsible for meticulous patient assessment, pain management, and the implementation of recovery and rehabilitation plans within a dynamic, fast-paced acute care setting.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, direct nursing care to patients with specialized trauma, orthopedic, and neurological needs.
- Conduct frequent and detailed assessments, interpreting clinical data to proactively identify and respond to changes in patient status.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and manage specialized equipment essential for orthopedic and neurosurgical recovery.
- Collaborate effectively with trauma surgeons, physical therapists, and specialists to coordinate complex interdisciplinary care plans.
- Educate patients and families on managing pain, performing safe mobility, and understanding discharge instructions specific to their recovery.
- Utilize critical thinking and decisive judgment to manage patient workload and prioritize clinical interventions with minimal supervision.
- Maintain accurate, concise, and timely documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).
Requirements
Education
Nursing Diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is required.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.Experience
Minimum of one (1) year of recent RN experience is required.Experience in LTACH, Home Health, or Rehabilitation settings will be considered for relevant experience.Prior experience caring for Trauma, Orthopedic, or Neurological patients is highly preferred.Certifications / Licenses
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida or a compact state is required.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) is required.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is preferred; required within six (6) months of hire.Skills
