CSC FAMILY PARTNER

Program Summary

Drawing from their own lived experience supporting a loved one with mental health challenges, the Family Partner provides non-clinical support to caregivers and family members of individuals receiving CSC services. As a valued member of the multidisciplinary CSC team, the Family Partner offers guidance, advocacy, and emotional support to help families understand early psychosis, navigate the treatment process, and build collaborative relationships with providers. This role includes participating in team meetings and contributing to a family-centered, recovery-oriented, and culturally responsive environment. Through shared experience, mentorship, and empowerment, the Family Partner helps families strengthen their capacity to support their loved one while also tending to their own wellness and resilience.

Program Description

The CSC (Coordinated Specialty Care) Early Psychosis Program is a specialized treatment approach designed to help individuals who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis. The goal of the program is to provide comprehensive, team-based care that addresses the various needs of young people (typically ages 16-30) who have recently experienced symptoms of psychosis. The program is aimed at improving long-term outcomes and minimizing the impact of psychosis on the individual's life.

General Requirements

Education / Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must have either lived experience with psychosis or other serious mental illness (SMI) which resulted in involuntary hospitalization, juvenile justice involvement, child welfare involvement, Extensive history with SI / HI OR experience working with a close family member struggling with psychosis or SMI (I.E. parent, sibling, caregiver)
