Job Summary
Working with a high level of independence and serving in the lead role, this position is responsible for the fiscal control, accounting, and reporting of contracts and grants, including pre- and post-award financial analysis. Lead financial analyst, compliance officer, and resource advisor for extramural pre- and post-award management in a team of 3 fiscal officers. Provide financial administration of a variety of university, state, private and federal funds. The Research Admin is responsible for keeping faculty, staff and subcontractors in compliance with the requirements and restrictions of awards and agreements, assisting third parties, including UCOP and Federal Offices / Agencies, with audits of expenditures, and developing and managing budgets and financial reports in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Department Overview
The Physics & Astronomy Department is a large and complex academic teaching and research department within the College of Letters and Science. The department administers intramural and extramural funds of approximately $27M annually, including organized research. Additionally, the department oversees fiscal operations for the Crocker Nuclear Laboratory that administers approximately $2M annually, comprised substantially of recharge funds and income. The Physics & Astronomy Business Office is responsible for the employment of approximately 280 people, including academic, non-academic, student, and staff employees.
