Job description

Channel Partner Program Manager

This is a remote position.

Summary : Take charge of a high-impact Channel Partner Program at a fast-growing, modern bookkeeping firm. Be the first dedicated hire in this function, then build and lead a team to scale up a thriving national partner ecosystem.

About BooksTime : BooksTime is an ambitious, modern bookkeeping firm. We take the hassle out of financial record-keeping for small businesses. We've enjoyed 9 years of continuous growth, largely driven by referrals from happy clients and their advisors, such as CPAs and fractional CFOs, as well as partnerships with other professional service providers. We're looking to build on this success by scaling up a Channel Partner Program.

The bookkeeping industry is changing fast. In the US, there's a massive shortage of qualified bookkeepers. However, as remote work becomes the norm, small businesses can benefit from working with the best bookkeepers no matter where in the world they are located. However, most small business owners don't know how to find and effectively manage overseas talent. That's where BooksTime comes in.

BooksTime currently has around 115 staff in 5 countries : the US, where we're headquartered, as well as Georgia, the Philippines, UAE, and Ukraine.

With a global model, we can hire the best, most highly qualified bookkeepers in the world, pay them good wages, and because of lower costs of living abroad, still offer affordable prices to clients.

Traditional bookkeeping firms are inefficient, expensive, and often provide subpar service. By leveraging our remote, global workforce, as well as modern automation and AI tech, BooksTime is able to deliver higher quality bookkeeping at prices every business can afford.

What You'll Do : While we have developed a number of partnerships over the years, there have been no full-time staff at BooksTime dedicated to our Channel Partner Program until now. However, given the incredible promise shown by the partnerships we've developed so far, we are eager to scale up the program. At first, you'll act as a hands-on individual contributor, bringing in new partners and laying the groundwork for further expansion. When ready, you'll step back to hire, train and manage a team to scale up the program.

Phase 1 : Individual Contributor (Approx. First 6 Months)

  • Identify and engage high-value partners (Accountants, Fractional CFOs, VCs) across the US.
  • Conduct deep discovery and develop tailored partnership strategies.
  • Close new partnerships and ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Build strong relationships and track partner success.

Phase 2 : Team Building (Next 6 Months)

  • Hire, train, and manage SDRs to drive top-of-funnel engagement.
  • Recruit and develop Channel Account Executives to deepen partner relationships.
  • Implement scalable processes and tools for partner engagement and tracking.
  • Phase 3 : Program Leadership (Long-Term)

  • Define and refine the channel acquisition strategy.
  • Design and execute training & enablement programs for partners.
  • Develop co-marketing initiatives with key partners.
  • Collaborate with the CEO, Sales, and Marketing teams to continuously optimize partnerships.
  • This role reports directly to the CEO.

    Why Join BooksTime :

  • Make History. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing company with ambitions to transform and modernize the accounting industry. We're still small (about 115 people globally), but we have a real chance to scale up the world's first large, global bookkeeping firm. This is a great opportunity to lead growth in one of the most promising B2B markets in the world.
  • Do Work That Matters. Without reliable financial reports, people can't run their businesses effectively. By providing financial clarity, we're making a meaningful impact on the financial health of the small businesses we serve, in addition to supporting everyone who depends on those businesses.
  • Grow With The Company. As our company continues to grow, there will be many opportunities to take on new responsibilities and grow professionally.
  • Constant Improvement. This is one of our core values. We are always thinking about how we can do better, and can't wait to hear your ideas. If you're looking for a role that gives you ample opportunity to be heard and make a big impact you've found it!
  • Friendly, Supportive Culture. In survey after survey, one of the things BooksTimers say they love most about working at BooksTime is the culture. BooksTimers are positive, friendly, collaborative, and go out of their way to support one another.
  • Work That Stays Fresh. Things are constantly changing at a fast-paced, growing startup like this, so we can pretty much guarantee that you'll never be bored.
  • 100% Remote, Flexible Work. No more commuting. No more cubicles. No more rigid schedules.
  • Requirements

The Ideal Candidate : This role is ideal for a B2B marketing, sales or business development professional passionate about driving growth and building lasting, mutually beneficial relationships.

    Required qualifications :

  • Proven track record : Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in Partner Sales, Business Development, Partnership Management, Channel Partnerships, or very similar fields.
  • History as a top performer in this type of role, consistently exceeding targets and quotas.
  • Experience building strategic relationships and partnerships with at least one of the following types of partners : accounting firms, outsourced or fractional CFOs, and / or VCs.
  • Extensive existing relationships with potential partners in at least one of these categories.
  • Ability to combine big-picture, strategic vision with hands-on execution.

    Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and scrappy.

Top-notch listening and discovery skills, with a knack for identifying pain points and consultative selling.

Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with a knack for building strong, trust-based relationships.

    Friendly, outgoing and positive.

Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Bias for action and comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment.

    Ideal qualifications :

  • Accounting knowledge or education.
  • Leadership experience
  • Training and process development experience
  • Benefits

Compensation : Based on qualifications. The compensation plan will include base, commission and bonus, and benefits. Total on-target earnings will be approx. $150,000 to $250,000. Base will be approx. $75,000 to $100,000.

  • Please note that we are not currently hiring residents of California and strongly prefer candidates in EST or CST. Hours : Full-time is strongly preferred. Part-time options with a minimum of 25 hours per week may be possible for exceptional candidates.
