Work You'll Do

• Technical Leadership + Architectural Oversight : Guide the design and architecture of APIs, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Best Practices : Establish and enforce coding standards, API design guidelines, and DevOps best practices.
• Technical Decision-Making : Make informed decisions on tools, frameworks, and technologies for both development and operations.
• Team Management + Mentorship : Coach and mentor API developers and DevOps engineers, supporting their professional growth.
• Resource Allocation : Assign tasks based on team members' strengths and project priorities.
• Performance Management : Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaboration and Communication : Act as the main point of contact between the API / DevOps team and other stakeholders (e.g., Product Managers, QA, Security). Ensure proper documentation of APIs, deployment processes, and operational runbooks. Communicate progress, risks, and issues to leadership and stakeholders.
• Project Delivery : Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives. Oversee code reviews, automated testing, and CI / CD pipelines to maintain high-quality deliverables. Guide the team in troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
• DevOps Enablement : Oversee the implementation and maintenance of continuous integration and deployment pipelines. Ensure infrastructure is managed using code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Champion monitoring, alerting, and reliability engineering practices.
• Security and Compliance : Ensure APIs are secure (authentication, authorization, data validation). Promote secure DevOps practices (secrets management, vulnerability scanning). Ensure processes adhere to relevant regulatory and organizational standards.
• Continuous Improvement : Identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements. Continuously assess and adopt new tools and technologies to improve productivity and quality.
