Position Type : Direct Hire W2, Full-Time

Location : On-site in Washington, D.C. or St. Louis, Missouri, with travel required to customer sites in Germany and Hawaii.

Compensation : $130,000-$164,000 DOE

Hiring Timeline : Immediate

Clearance : Active TS SCI security clearance required.

Role Overview

This is a customer-facing Field Engineer position that bridges technical expertise and client success. Acting as a post-sales solutions engineer, you will join Mission Software Engineers (who lead product development) on deployments to translate complex technical solutions into customer outcomes. The Field Engineer ensures that already-developed products are successfully implemented in real-world environments, serving as both a trusted technical resource and a relationship builder. You will help customers solve problems, navigate challenges, and feel confident in their adoption of AI technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary customer-facing technical partner during deployments, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption of AI solutions.
  • Act as a translator between Mission Software Engineers and customers, converting highly technical product knowledge into clear, actionable solutions for end users.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by understanding needs, resolving issues, and fostering trust.
  • Deploy and support products in the field, assisting with integrations, configurations, and troubleshooting.
  • Travel with Mission Software Engineers to U.S. and international sites (including Germany and Hawaii) to provide on-site technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with account executives and product managers to surface customer needs and feedback that shape product improvements.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and credibility at customer meetings, briefings, and major events.

Qualifications

  • Active TS SCI security clearance (required due to travel and mission sensitivity).
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients in a technical, hands-on capacity.
  • Strong engineering foundation in Computer Science with experience in languages like Python or JavaScript.
  • Ability to problem-solve in dynamic, real-time situations during deployments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills : empathetic, adaptable, and relationship-oriented.
  • Experience with AI technologies, LLMs, or API integrations.
  • Previous deployment or field support experience.
  • A track record of balancing technical implementation with customer engagement.
