Job Summary
Aggregate Haul Truck / Water Truck Driver will be required to drive a multi-axle truck for delivering and spraying water to maintain, control, and limit dust.
This individual will also operate a haul truck to haul various materials. This position is responsible for driving safely and reporting all incidents / injuries to management.
Responsibilities
- Driver will be responsible for safely driving a multi-axle truck : Haul And Water Truck
- Performs a pre-trip and post-trip inspection, recording all deficiencies on a DVIR and communicate with maintenance department as necessary
- Keep roadways and haul roads watered as necessary to minimize dust
- Fill and operate water truck in a safe and efficient manner
- Spray a high-pressure wand and or a 1 ½ water hose for extended periods of time
- Haul various materials in & out of the pit area as well as throughout various plant locations
- Communicate with company personnel by radio and able to work cooperatively and efficiently with others
- Enter / exit multiple different trucks repeatedly throughout the day using steps and ladders
- Haul different materials to specific locations repeatedly throughout the day
- Works in a safe manner at all times following all DOT, OSHA, MSHA and CPC safety guidelines
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Education
High school diploma or GED
Requirements / Qualifications
- Use radio to communicate with company personnel
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
- Physical requirements : climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting (up to 75 lbs.), stretching, driving / sitting and shifting gears
- Demonstrated commitment to safety
- Steel-toed boots are required; ANSI approved PPE will be provided and must be used when required
- Able to work in wet and / or dry conditions and extreme heat and cold
- Subject to random drug and alcohol screens as required by Company and DOT regulations
- Work varying shifts with varying start and stop times and availability on weekends when needed
- Experience hauling aggregate materials preferred
- Must be willing to cross train to meet the needs of the plant
Preferred :
- Experience in aggregate or heavy construction industries
- 2+ years of commercial driving experience
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug / alcohol screen, and background check.
Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
