Contribute to student access and equity by delivering real-time ASL interpretation and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in school environments. This substitute role requires adaptability and a readiness to support learning as needed.
Preferred Qualifications :
Advanced or native-level ASL fluency
Experience supporting students in classroom settings
Familiarity with assistive technology and inclusive teaching practices
Ability to follow detailed guidance and student IEP goals
Reliable, flexible, and responsive to daily scheduling needs
Responsibilities :
Facilitate ASL communication between students, staff, and peers
Assist with both academic and functional classroom tasks
Help students remain engaged and included in classroom activities
Follow educators’ directions while supporting student-specific needs
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in school settings
A strong understanding of DHH education practices and a flexible schedule are key to success in this position.
Hours are not guaranteed and shifts will be offered on an as-needed basis according to school needs.
