Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Columbus, Ohio (ZIP 43210) – Ohio nursing jobs Healthcare Setting : General Medicine, 11 West Doan Hall Assignment Type : Travel nursing contract Start Date : January 5, 2026 End Date : April 6, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 30) Hours per Week : 36 Schedule : Weekdays and 3-4 weekend shifts per month Patient Population : Adults and geriatrics Unit Size : 27 beds, average daily census of 23 Estimated Weekly Pay : $1940–$1990 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Ohio RN license (compact or state license required at submission) Minimum 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience in medical surgical settings BCLS and IV certification required Experience with EPIC EMR preferred Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Strong communication, critical thinking, and multitasking skills Previous travel nursing experience is a plus Ability to float to lower acuity units as needed Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Two professional references required (one from a manager / director or formal leadership role) Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Start and manage IVs for adult and geriatric patients Administer medications safely and accurately Monitor patient vitals and responses to treatment Educate patients on treatments, procedures, and self-care Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans Document care using EPIC EMR Float to lower acuity units within the hospital as needed Follow hospital policies and maintain patient safety standards Perform medical surgical procedures including Foleys, PICC lines, IV antibiotics, chest tubes, paracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, lumbar punctures, and more Work closely with support services such as Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams Experience the energy of Columbus, Ohio while making a difference in patient care.
