Engineering Manager

The SSNX program is seeking to hire an engineering manager to help manage and build the major area integration teams for the SSNX program. This position requires a high degree of communication from within Newport News Shipbuilding, with Electric Boat, and with the Navy. A strong background in submarine engineering & design with working knowledge of major submarine systems, arrangements, and CONOPS is desired. The position requires a strong technical background and project management experience to understand tasking and technical issues that may arise. The position will also be responsible for helping to coordinate platform task oversight and proper integration between the platform (E35) and propulsion plant (E11) tasking. Additional areas of responsibility may include support in developing the design process architecture, white paper development and review, as well as additional program priorities as they arise.

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience. Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
