Position Overview :

The Project Manager plays a critical role in planning, executing, and closing field service projects with precision and efficiency. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, internal departments, and vendors, ensuring alignment across scope, schedule, safety, and cost. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solution-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Serve as the main Operations Team liaison for Sales and Customers.
  • Manage and maintain organized project documentation within company systems.
  • Partner with Sales to gather the required details for project setup in NexGen.
  • Collaborate with clients and site managers to define project scope, schedule, crane requirements, and necessary site improvements.
  • Ensure Engineering has all relevant information to develop detailed lift plans.
  • Coordinate internal review of lift plans and deliver finalized versions to the customer.
  • Align with Operations to confirm crane availability, readiness, and site walkthroughs.
  • Identify required site improvements and communicate these to the customer prior to crane mobilization.
  • Organize and lead internal kickoff meetings to ensure alignment on scope, expectations, and execution strategy.
  • Create and manage purchase orders for third-party equipment or services.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery and accurate documentation pre- and post-project.
  • Provide timely feedback to Sales regarding scope, schedule, or equipment changes during execution.
  • Manage project cost, schedule, and scope and communicate progress to stakeholders as needed.

Execution & Oversight

  • Track day-to-day project activities and proactively address deviations from plan.
  • Monitor actual performance against planned performance metrics (cost, schedule, scope).
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, safety standards, and project milestones.
  • Work closely with Operations Managers to adjust resources and timelines to stay on budget and on track.
  • Act as a point of escalation for field-level issues during execution.
  • Manage all third-party contractors supporting project activities.
  • Own and lead the project closeout process, ensuring deliverables are completed and documentation finalized.
  • Collaborate across departments to complete post-project evaluations and lessons learned.
  • Deliver all required project documentation to the customer in a timely and complete manner (e.g., root cause analyses, incident reports, service records).
  • Safety and Compliance

  • Champion a culture of safety and ensure adherence to OSHA, ANSI, and internal protocols.
  • Participate in and / or lead job hazard analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
  • Verify all crane operations and associated equipment meet regulatory and certification requirements.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the customer’s primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide consistent, professional communication including project updates, risk reports, and change order summaries.
  • Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, developers, independent service providers (ISPs), IPPs, and general contractors.
  • Manage and execute approved change orders in a timely manner.
  • Budget & Financial Controls

  • Manage overall project financials including budgets, cost and revenue tracking, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate financial forecasts using Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC) methodologies.
  • Ensure alignment of cost and revenue for proper margin recognition—especially across multi-month projects.
  • Track percent complete and align with financials in NexGen.
  • Ensure timely and accurate management of project accruals.
  • Execute projects at or above the As-Sold project margin.
  • Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively identify process inefficiencies or performance gaps and recommend solutions.
  • Participate in internal post-mortems to capture lessons learned and implement best practices in future projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize workflows, improve documentation quality, and enhance project delivery tools.
  • Leverage project data to support improvements in forecasting, planning, and execution metrics.
  • Encourage and support team feedback on how to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in the field.
  • Qualifications :
