Our Moonachie, NJ Distribution Center is the largest in our network and delivers the highest daily volume. With the largest fleet of refrigerated vans and box trucks, this site is core to our last-mile operations. As our fleet expands, fleet management has become a critical need and that's where this role comes in. We are seeking a Fleet Lead to oversee the readiness, safety, and performance of the fleet supporting one of the highest-revenue operations in our company. This role is hands-on, operational, and highly autonomous. You will coordinate fleet safety, preventive maintenance, vendor performance, telematics monitoring, and driver equipment readiness. Ideal candidates have a background in fleet maintenance or transportation operations, strong organizational skills, and experience supporting delivery or warehouse environments.

How You'll Make an Impact

Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Champion fleet safety programs in partnership with the Sr. Manager of EHS and site leadership.
• Uphold DOT, OSHA, food safety, and company safety standards.
• Conduct vehicle and driver equipment safety audits; track trends and implement corrective actions.
• Review violations and collaborate with AGMs and Safety Leads on preventive programs.
• Lead initiatives to improve PM compliance, fleet readiness, and loadout safety performance.

Fleet Readiness & Maintenance

About You

35 years of experience in transportation, fleet operations, fleet maintenance, or fleet safety. Knowledge of refrigeration units, light- / medium-duty vehicles, and basic mechanical systems. Skilled in PM / CM coordination, vendor management, and cost-control practices. Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments. Comfortable working evening or overnight shifts supporting active fleet operations. Excellent communicator with drivers, dispatchers, and vendors. Experience leading and coaching in fleet, warehouse, or delivery environments. Familiar with WMS, telematics, and fleet management systems. Background in last-mile or foodservice delivery preferred.

Compensation

Compensation for this role is between $77,000 - $88,000.
