Successful candidates will be required to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and to establish and maintain an externally funded research program. Candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Additional Requirements Appointments to the Associate Professor position require strong evidence of acquiring and administering external funding (current principal investigator with existing grants is preferred); strong evidence of ability to produce and communicate research; excellence in teaching and working with students; and a commitment to community engagement is expected.
Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification At least two years of work experience after graduation with PhD (e.g., postdoctoral training or teaching) and relevant research publications. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Successful candidates are expected to have a strong academic record in teaching, research, and service in One Health with a focus on environmental factors that contribute to aging, cognitive aging, dementia, or neurodegenerative disease. Integrated research bridging human-, animal-, and/or environmental systems via computational and/or integrative –omics technologies is especially encouraged. Clinician-scientists (MD-PhD, Clinical neuropsychologists) are also encouraged to apply. Additional preferred qualifications include: excellence in teaching and working with students, evidence of ability to submit strong (fundable) extramural grant proposals, ability to produce and communicate research.
