Controller
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead full-cycle accounting operations and support a portfolio of client engagements within a government contracting environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who excels in managing complex accounting functions, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with federal contracting regulations.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in Deltek Costpoint, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to lead an accounting team in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, expense reporting, and general ledger management.
- Execute month-end close activities, including financial statements, reconciliations, analyses, and supporting schedules.
- Complete client invoicing, operational metrics, indirect expense analysis, and variance explanations.
- Develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and other federal contracting requirements.
- Lead efforts to streamline and automate accounting processes while maintaining compliance and controls.
- Manage external financial audits, including coordination of documentation and responses.
- Support tax-related activities such as filings, payments, and preparation of year-end returns.
- Oversee DCAA-related audits and ensure adherence to federal procurement standards.
- Provide leadership, development, and guidance to accounting team members.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.8+ years of accounting experience within government contracting.6+ years of hands-on Deltek Costpoint experience required.Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, CAS, DCAA requirements, and federal compliance.Proven ability to build and lead high-performing accounting teams.Experience designing and implementing accounting processes and controls.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of an organization.Familiarity with systems such as Unanet, QuickBooks, and Jamis is a plus.EEO Statement :
