Senior Electrical Project Manager

MCS is hiring for a Senior Electrical Project Manager for a high-profile Federal / Military project in Columbus, GA. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.

The Senior Electrical Project Manager guides all project phases, from planning to delivery. This entails efficient resource coordination, timeline, and budget management, and fostering transparent communication among team members and stakeholders.

Serving as a skilled facilitator, the project manager encourages open dialogue, even during conflicts, utilizing strong communication and interpersonal skills to ensure the success of the project team.

Typical duties include : Fiduciary Responsibility : The project manager shall exhibit proficiency in effectively managing the financial performance of their assigned portfolio, encompassing but not limited to the following aspects : Developing and maintaining an accurate schedule of values that ensures positive cash flow and rational front loading of invoicing.

Executing AIA progress invoices for work accomplished and accumulated to-date. Vigilantly monitoring cash flow and the cost-performance index (CPI).

Precisely forecasting the project's future expenditures, revenue, profitability, and earned value. Delivering precise reports for the monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) statement, alongside meticulous projections for the Cost at Completion (CAC).

Communication : project manager will facilitate clear and effective communication among project stakeholders, including : Organizing regular project status meetings to discuss progress, issues, and solutions.

Providing timely updates to clients, team members, and senior management. Addressing conflicts and ensuring that all parties are well-informed and aligned.

Developing and distributing project documentation and reports as needed. Schedule Management : project manager will create, maintain, and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion, accomplished by : Developing a detailed project schedule, including critical milestones, tasks, and dependencies.

Allocating resources effectively to optimize project timeline. Monitoring project progress and identifying potential schedule risks.

Implementing corrective actions to address schedule delays and disruptions. Documentation and Communication Oversight : the project manager will systematically document project events, discussions, changes, and disputes.

This organized record will serve as evidence for any potential future claims to enhance risk management and equip the company to effectively manage claims, disputes, and unforeseen challenges.

Key responsibilities include : Communication Tracking : Recording emails, calls, and meeting details for clear communication history.

Visual Proof : Capturing photographs of project phases and milestones to document progress visually. Change Monitoring : Precisely noting changes and disputes to track project evolution.

Claim Preparation : Structuring records for easy retrieval in case of future claims. Accessible Records : Ensuring secure and easy-to-access documentation for transparency and efficiency.

Required : Educational Requirements : High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Certification Requirements : Ability to obtain Base Access to a US Military base.

Journeyman's license (Preferred) Experience Requirements : 10 years of proven success in project management, including a professional resume detailing historical success on projects in excess of $5 million dollars with advanced schedules and complex requirements.

Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, regulations, and best practices in the construction industry. Proficiency in creating project plans, schedules, and budgets using project management software.

Ability to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Experience in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost control.

Familiarity with electrical design software, AutoCAD, and other relevant tools. Skilled in negotiating contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients Able to work overtime, nights, weekends, and to travel.

Fundamental Functions Work Environment Work assignments may vary based on client requirements. Work may be performed inside a large facility.

An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations : close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).

Work may be performed in the field. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold, wet, icy, or windy climates.

Schedule Regular attendance following an established work schedule is mandatory. It is important to be able to work any shift / designated hours required.

You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work.

This position may require night and weekend work and could include travel to areas with varying field conditions. Physical Requirements May require climbing ladders, working at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks.

Must possess the capability to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended durations. Will be required to operate in noisy environments with temperatures higher or lower than standard office conditions.

Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC / laptop. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files.

Extended periods of sitting while on PC / laptop or phone. Equipment and Machines General office equipment includes but is not limited to PCs / laptops, telephones, copiers, servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that supports the network environment.

General field equipment includes but is not limited to hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial / motorized lifts, and test equipment.

This position may require the operation of motor vehicles as an essential job function. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

The ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly is crucial. Employees may be subject to periodic motor vehicle record checks, and any discrepancies may impact eligibility for the position.

Safety is of utmost importance, and adherence to traffic laws and company policies governing the use of motor vehicles is mandatory.

Travel Travel requirements will vary. Not all positions require travel. A current passport is required for Overseas travel.

Other Essential Functions Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required certifications or licenses through the duration of the project or contract.

Failure to obtain / maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.
