What We Are Looking For

Yazaki is looking for a Purchasing Specialist to join our Purchasing team in Canton, MI . The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization. This position is hybrid.

What You Will Be Doing

• Manages spot buy requests / communications (external supplier)
• Work FIFO but also prioritize urgent requests; work with Direct Purchasing buyers to obtain approval or provide pricing when needed.
• Scope includes all YNCA direct material purchased to external suppliers.
• Identifies and drives cost improvement opportunities by looking for redundancies or root causes to solve issues at the source.
• Weekly / Monthly / Ad hoc reporting of PO status and progress to leadership
• Identifies efficiency opportunities
• Work with Finance (controller)
• Work with BU and MP&L / Planners
• Work with Category Buyers
• Initiates and attends meetings with purchasing team as required
• Maintains metrics and BOS for Data Management Team
• Maintains master tracker and all documentation for audit compliance purposes
• Supports special projects as required
• Overall compliance according to all assigned Roles and Responsibilities in line with current Purchasing standards and Procedures
• Monitors KPIs and group metrics
• Create documentation to support special projects
