TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PICU RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68105!

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience at a Level I Trauma Center

License : Active nursing license

Certifications : BLS, PALS required; ACLS preferred

Must-Have :

  • Epic charting experience required
  • First-time travelers not accepted unless they have 3+ years of experience at a Level I Trauma Center in PICU
  • Must be 100% nicotine-free

Description :

This position offers a 36 or 48-hour option.

Call requirements may apply for regularly scheduled shifts.

All staff may be required to perform tasks across all inpatient units.

Rover nurses perform tasks such as :

  • Turns and repositioning
  • Bathing assistance
  • Patient transport assistance
  • Ambulation support
  • Meal assistance
  • Medication administration within individual comfort zone and training
  • This is a mixed-acuity unit.

    Ratios are 1 : 2 for PICU, 1 : 3 for PCU, and 1 : 4 for Acute Care.

    Registered Nurses are expected to work across the acuity spectrum.

    Requests for days off must be stipulated in contracts and are subject to unit needs.

    Scheduling is done by the unit scheduler; self-scheduling is not allowed.

    Weekend requirements include a minimum of 3 weekend shifts plus a Friday day.

    Daily census is managed within a 24-bed unit.

    Daily tasks will include care for adolescents, infants, and pediatric patients.

    Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from multiple services.

    Clinical competencies include administration of medications, care of ventilated patients, status monitoring, and basic patient care tasks.

    This role requires the management of various equipment and patient care techniques.

    The unit focuses on delivering care to complex patients.

    This is a nicotine-free facility.

    Travelers must provide proof of licensing within a specified timeframe.

    All contracts will conclude on a Sunday, aligning with the workweek.

    RTO requests should be included during application submission.
