Position Summary :
Under the leadership of the departmental Director and / or Manager, the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) works as part of the interdisciplinary team to perform evaluations, treatments, and documentation requirements in accordance with professional standards.
Basic Qualifications :
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Experience :Up to one year of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training,
and experience in a hospital and / or skilled nursing facility setting preferred.
Licensure, Registrations & Certifications :Requires a current state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
Requires a current certification in Basic Life Support.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
Coordinating, consultations and diagnostic evaluations with patients having known or suspected communication disorders and / or oropharyngeal dysphagia; and interpreting assessment data; planning and performing speech-language pathology treatment intervention programs when appropriate that restore function, prevent disability and help patients reach maximum potential.Performs initial and discharge evaluations, sets goals and treatment plan and documents appropriatelyDevelops treatment plan and performs optimal treatment in a timely manner to meet functional goalsCommunicates with other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans.Records daily treatment notes and other required documentation timely and completely.Meeting production requirements for physical therapy rendered as defined by the organization.Complies with the Georgia State Practice Act.Assumes responsibility for safety, infection control and performance improvement as part of CRHS’s efforts to provide quality care and services. Performs all associated duties, responsibilities, and tasks.Presents a professional image to CRHS’s co-workers, clinical and medical staff members, patients, families, and visitors.Attends professional development programs and in-service training and meets the minimum requirement for continuing professional education.
