Summary : This is a leadership role that performs professional work providing operational support to and management of Sylmar Studios’ information technology infrastructure, telecommunications and team members.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proven track record implementing and managing technology solutions.
This is a highly skilled position, working under the general direction of the Vice President of Studio Operations and Facilities.
Essential Job Duties :
- Provides management and oversight for Sylmar Studios’ information technology infrastructure, systems and services
- Assists in developing and managing the studio’s information systems and telecommunications annual operating and capital expenditure budgets to ensure consistency with overall strategic objectives
- Works directly with production clients and fulfills initial network and telecom needs for offices and soundstages
- Functions as main contact for internet service provider
- Establishes, documents, and communicates technology-related goals and objectives to team members and management
- Ensures compliance with governance, security and audit policies, procedures and best practices as it relates to the MPA’s Trusted Partners Network protocals
- Tracks bandwidth usage used by clients for billing purposes
- Supervises, evaluates, plans work objectives, establishes priorities and / or corrective actions for the information technology support staff;
ensures completion of routine and ongoing support functions
- Responsible for high performing on-lot wireless service
- Fosters a collaborative and innovative team culture to drive excellence in IT service delivery
- Provides project management and leadership for client-requested technology projects and implements enterprise technology strategies
- Manages routine / scheduled audits of all systems, including all backups
- Ensures the security, reliability, and performance of networks, servers, and systems
- Oversees Studio’s copier / printer rental program
- Provides leadership in resolving escalated technical issues and ensure timely and effective user support
- Ensures proper housekeeping policies for IDF / MDF rooms
- Recommends the selection and acquisition of hardware, software, and IT-related services and equipment
- Tracks and maintains IT hardware and software inventory
- Partners with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements
- Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers and service providers; negotiates contracts and agreements with suppliers and service providers to ensure cost-effectiveness and service quality
- Ensures service providers perform to contractual SLAs and service obligations
Education / Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of (5) five years of related working experience.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills :
- Expert knowledge of IT best practices, policies and regulations
- A clear understanding of production client / server technology and network architecture
- In-depth understanding of computer science and cybersecurity
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Advanced leadership and conflict management skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Project management skills, including organization, planning, time management and prioritization
- Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening
