Job Description
The Imaging Informatics Department is responsible for assuring that the clinical diagnostic and research images and its reporting systems that are used throughout the enterprise are safe and effective. This includes all aspects of training, acquisition, implementation, maintenance of imaging systems. The staff of Imaging Informatics works with multiple hospital and university departments, Clinical Engineering, Information Technology and hospital staff to ensure the integrity of the imaging systems. Imaging Informatics staff is involved in the ongoing task of evaluating and optimizing the current workflow and application capability to maximize the use of the available technologies.
The Imaging Informatics Technician collaborates closely with the Imaging Informatics team to maintain the functionality and integrity of Clinical Imaging Systems. A key responsibility of this role includes managing incoming calls to the Support Center and providing timely technical assistance.
This position serves as a knowledgeable technical resource, supporting both new and existing applications, as well as software upgrades related to clinical systems. Responsibilities also include assisting with hardware support, installation, and replacement of PC-related equipment.
The technician ensures proper internal and external image management in accordance with departmental policies. They also contribute to the testing and implementation of clinical information systems and solutions, and help develop and deliver training plans for clinical, physician, clerical, information systems, and support staff.
Additionally, the role supports the release of imaging records to clinical staff and departments, both within and outside the Medical Center.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
