• Job Duration : Locums About the Facility A Large Hospital is seeking a General Surgery Nurse Practitioner for locum tenens coverage. About the Facility Location The facility is located in New York. About the Clinician's Workday This position offers both day and night shift options. Day shifts (6 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) include first assisting in the OR across multiple specialties such as General Surgery, OB / GYN, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Urology, Thoracic, and Organ Procurement. Responsibilities also involve placing pre- and post-op orders, handling consults and admissions, managing nursing calls from the ER, floors, and ASU, as well as rounding on post-op orthopedic patients during weekdays and general surgery patients daily. Night shifts (6 p.m. to 7 a.m.) focus primarily on consults and admissions, mostly in General Surgery, with occasional cases in Orthopedics, Vascular, Urology, and other specialties, along with nursing calls from the floors across all specialties.
