Position Description

The Operational Embedded Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction by managing and coordinating daily, weekly and monthly activities to maintain, operate and support E80 systems and equipment in dedicated customer plants. The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, client maintenance and operation teams. The role is 50% hands-on with equipment / systems and 50% supervising and coordinating with other E80 staff and customers. The engineer will be assigned to a specific customer plant or a group of plants, with the goal of delivering maximum customer satisfaction for service-related matters.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction : act as the first point of contact for service-related aspects such as asset and system performance, ticket resolution, spare parts inventory management and overall service delivery. Ensure timely communication with customers and E80 back-office support.
  • Organize and manage periodic technology updates sessions to inform and train customer personnel on E80 technologies, solutions and products.
  • Participate in periodic operational and management meetings with the customer's staff.
  • Prepare and share with the customer quotes for parts and interventions; request PO to E80 team to handle requests.
  • Resource Allocation : allocate technical resources, verify equipment and tools, and manage materials for field services and projects based on requirements and availability.
  • Scheduling and Coordination : develop and maintain resource schedules for maintenance, field service, and retrofit activities; liaise with CSAM, supervisors, resident engineers, spare parts team, service coordinators, technicians and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution; order spare parts and follow up with the spare part representative.
  • Enter and manage tickets in Salesforce; manage onsite resource intervention based on schedules.
  • Performance Monitoring : monitor and report on resource performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Process Improvement : continually review and improve resource allocation processes and procedures.
  • Compliance : ensure all activities comply with regulations, standards and company policies; observe customer behavior and identify areas for improvement.
  • Escalation : escalate important customer aspects to the organization as needed.
  • Safety : ensure safe operation of E80 systems and escalate discrepancies as appropriate.
  • Technical tasks : perform advanced electrical troubleshooting on E80 machines as required; replace, program and configure electromechanical components; perform engineering and software maintenance tasks as needed (e.g., LGV calibration and navigation parameters).

Position Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience in maintenance management in material handling and industrial machine design / manufacturing will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in material handling, packaging equipment, robotics and palletizing; experience in customer service, project management and asset management.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience on E80 automation systems (PLC, PC, LGV, EM).
  • CMRT and other certifications are highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP, Salesforce CRM, and Microsoft Office 365 (Power Platform).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational and communication abilities; customer-centric mindset.
  • Ability to be a change agent and collaborate across teams.
