Position Summary :
We are seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager to join our Power Team in Akron, OH, Columbus, OH, or Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves leading distribution line design projects, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high-quality, innovative designs that support safe communities.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; Master's degree preferred. Equivalent experience of 15+ years in electric utility without a degree.
- 7+ years of experience in distribution line design.
- 3+ years of project management experience in distribution line projects (preferred).
- Successful completion of the PE Exam (preferred).
- Strong understanding of safety codes, utility standards, and regulations (NESC, ASCE, IEEE).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Distribution Design Studio, SPIDACalc, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and O-Calc (preferred).
- Experience mentoring engineers and fostering team development.
- Leadership skills as a technical expert and servant leader.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
- Experience in developing project scope, schedule, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Management : Oversee high voltage infrastructure projects, including design, survey, environmental assessments, and field services. Manage communication with stakeholders.Technical Oversight : Ensure quality control, analyze data, and identify discrepancies and solutions.Client Engagement : Build and maintain client relationships, understand their needs, and seek opportunities to exceed expectations.Team Development : Mentor and develop team members, providing technical training and career guidance.Administrative Oversight : Use KPIs to track workflows, ensure project scope and budget adherence, and maintain quality standards.Benefits :
