Government Operations Consultant II
This position serves as a Reporting Analyst in the Program Performance Unit of the Bureau of Labor Market Statistics' Data Services Section, supporting Workforce Services and all Department program areas. Responsible for the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of operational datasets and the preparation, analysis, and delivery of reports and reporting systems to business stakeholders, using standard productivity tools including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
Collaborates with program area staff on data projects, process improvements, and general business needs, helping to interpret business requirements and develop them into viable reporting tools and processes. Participate on the Data Services Report Modernization Project (RMP) team, providing insight into business logic and rules and ideas for project efficiencies. Examines business processes to develop efficiencies to consolidate and increase the effectiveness of reporting and make recommendations and action plans for leadership based on findings.
Assists in ensuring continuity of operations (COOP) for all Program Performance Unit processes, including maintaining detailed work-paper records of assumptions, methodologies, coding notation and information sources utilized during the performance of all analytical tasks. Prepare and issue instructions concerning generation, completion, and distribution of reports according to new or revised practices, procedures, or policies of reports management. Assists in continuity of operations reviews for other programs areas as requested.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, policies, and procedures relating to operational management analysis activities. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department. Travel may be required.

The mission of the Bureau of Labor Market Statistics (LMS) is to produce, analyze, and deliver timely and reliable labor statistics to improve economic decision-making. The LMS Data Services Section is responsible for managing the economic data produced and acquired by LMS staff and creating useful data products that benefit Floridian's and help drive policy.
