Job Description
Develop and maintain safety and environmental management system documentation, including policies, procedures, training materials, and work instructions. Manage environmental compliance programs, including permitting, reporting, and recordkeeping for federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Lead environmental permitting efforts and support regulatory activities related to both current operations and future projects. Oversee incident reporting and investigation processes, including root cause analysis (RCA), corrective action implementation, trend analysis, and best practice sharing. Coordinate emergency response planning and training, covering medical, chemical, fire, evacuation, and rescue scenarios. Lead risk assessments such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) evaluations, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and equipment hazard reviews. Conduct internal audits and gap assessments to drive compliance with applicable EHS standards and continuous improvement initiatives. Chair the site safety committee and support the development and achievement of site-level safety goals and metrics. Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all hazardous materials used on-site. Manage the workers' compensation process, including claims administration and return-to-work programs. Track and interpret changes to EHS regulations to ensure timely updates to internal systems and processes. Participate in the Change Management Board, reviewing and approving Management of Change (MoC) submissions. Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA, OSHA, local authorities). Develop and report key performance indicators (KPIs), maintaining a company-wide EHS dashboard and delivering regular updates to executive leadership.
