Role :
To originate, manage, and supervise the Credit Union's portfolio of commercial loans, with overall objective of maintaining and increasing its asset quality; to develop new and existing business relationships with a focus on small business lending and increasing membership.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
Takes applications for commercial loan business. Reviews member financial condition and assesses the member's ability to re-pay the loan. Makes underwriting decisions within approval authority. Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and closes loans.
Participates in developing lending and deposit business for the Credit Union. Calls on clients to expand existing business; calls on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the Credit Union's member base.
Holds Credit Committee Meetings and participates in any additional committees as needed. Monitors existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base minimizing loan runoff.
Makes recommendations for training, product enhancements, and offers solutions based on industry standards and market trends.
Works with Commercial Lending Generalist and CUSO partners to maintain up-to-date member files including current balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow projections and all loan documentation.
Represents the credit union at various functions to develop business relationships.
Assists members with any loan-related questions and concerns.
Discuss member's needs, problems or complaints and arranges meetings between members or prospective members and representatives of various credit union functional areas. Escalating items relating to Complaints and Collections to CLO and appropriate members of the management team.
Abides by all Federal, State and Local laws including but not limited to : The Bank Secrecy Act, including the Office of Foreign Assets Control (FAC), and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, (FinCen); Uniform Commercial Code (UCC); Federal Reserve Bank; and national Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Performs other job-related duties, as assigned.
This is a hybrid eligible position and requires 1 to 2 days per week on site in Lowell, MA. Hybrid eligibility subject to change.
Monday-Friday 8AM-4 : 30PM-Some weekend and evening hours are required to attend functions and community events.
