American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a 13-week ICU assignment in an acute care setting requiring an active OR license and strong critical care skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 16-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospitalTypical patient population includes cardiac and respiratory casesNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 2Night shifts from 1845 to 0715, with every other weekend requiredRNs will titrate drips including Levophed, Propofol, Insulin, Dopamine, Neosynephrine, and PrecedexRespiratory therapists are in the ICU 24 / 7 and all RT equipment is availableRNs read their own telemetry strips; no monitor techs on unitCharting is performed in MediTech EMRUnit-specific orientation consists of two shiftsFloating may be required according to contract needsRNs may be placed on call for low census with a 30-minute response time to the unitResponsibilities include caring for critically ill patients and managing complex dripsCharge nurse and house supervisor support availableNo nurse aids are present on the unitMust cover at least one major and one minor holiday during the assignmentDress code includes black, cocoa brown, charcoal grey, navy blue, or khaki scrubsCandidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit / CHI / Dignity facilities in any capacity within the last yearPassing testing modules on dysrhythmia interpretation and sterile technique may be required in some locations\n \n Requirements\n
Active OR RN license or Compact (NLC) license required at the time of considerationMinimum of 2 years recent ICU nursing experienceCertifications required : Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)Experience in acute and critical care settings requiredMust be able to titrate common critical care dripsCopy of driver’s license required for considerationTwo professional references : one supervisor from the last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years\n Benefits\n
