American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Roseburg, Oregon.

Job Description\n

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a 13-week ICU assignment in an acute care setting requiring an active OR license and strong critical care skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 16-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospital
  • Typical patient population includes cardiac and respiratory cases
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 2
  • Night shifts from 1845 to 0715, with every other weekend required
  • RNs will titrate drips including Levophed, Propofol, Insulin, Dopamine, Neosynephrine, and Precedex
  • Respiratory therapists are in the ICU 24 / 7 and all RT equipment is available
  • RNs read their own telemetry strips; no monitor techs on unit
  • Charting is performed in MediTech EMR
  • Unit-specific orientation consists of two shifts
  • Floating may be required according to contract needs
  • RNs may be placed on call for low census with a 30-minute response time to the unit
  • Responsibilities include caring for critically ill patients and managing complex drips
  • Charge nurse and house supervisor support available
  • No nurse aids are present on the unit
  • Must cover at least one major and one minor holiday during the assignment
  • Dress code includes black, cocoa brown, charcoal grey, navy blue, or khaki scrubs
  • Candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit / CHI / Dignity facilities in any capacity within the last year
  • Passing testing modules on dysrhythmia interpretation and sterile technique may be required in some locations

  • Active OR RN license or Compact (NLC) license required at the time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years recent ICU nursing experience
  • Certifications required : Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Experience in acute and critical care settings required
  • Must be able to titrate common critical care drips
  • Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
  • Two professional references : one supervisor from the last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years
