Procurement And Food Distribution Manager
Under limited supervision, leads, manages and coordinates statewide accountability activities for the School Nutrition Division.
Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Establishing program priorities by conducting reviews and needs assessments of local school nutrition programs that identify performance gaps and include analyzed data collected through program evaluation
- Developing and implementing an annual plan of work for the food distribution and procurement teams consistent with the School Nutrition Division strategic plan, operational plan, training calendar, state performance expectations, and budget limitations
- Providing leadership for the procurement and food distribution teams, effectively delivering program support
- Monitoring and developing policy for school nutrition program procurement compliant with federal, state, and local regulations and following up on deficient areas providing technical assistance and training
- Overseeing the budget for allocated USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) foods funds consistent with federal standards; planning and monitoring allocations, supervising processing of USDA foods and USDA reporting
- Directing the design and delivery of technical assistance to maximize purposes of the School Nutrition Program including training for state and local program staff, administrators, and others involved in the oversight and operation of the program
- Facilitating an effective system of communication; advancing regulatory compliance and program enhancement among local and state program personnel related to areas of responsibility
- Analyzing pertinent issues and initiating innovative projects that result in program improvement; and effectively supervising the assigned staff
Note : Statewide travel and a home office are required.
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following :
Master's degree in business administration, education administration, nutrition / dietetics, education or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or administrative role in operation of the School Nutrition Program at a school, local school system, or state levelGeorgia Professional Standards Commission School Nutrition Director CertificationFive or more years experience in a leadership role managing a School Nutrition program in a local school system, state agency, or college / universitySchool Nutrition Specialist CertificationExperience with USDA foods allocations and USDA Web-Based Supply Chain Management platformExperience with federal, state, and local procurement, preferably in school nutritionRegistered and licensed dietitianExperience with development and delivery of training and technical assistanceExcellent interpersonal and supervisory skillsExcellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
