About The Position

Location : Carmel, New York, USA Specialty : Medical Technologist Type : Travel Schedule : 5x8s Evenings Time : 13 Weeks

Seven Healthcare is pleased to offer a rewarding travel opportunity for an Travel Blood Bank Medical Technologist in Carmel Hamlet, NY. This assignment consists of five 8-hour evening shifts per week, totaling 40 hours paying $2,725 weekly.

Key Responsibilities of the Travel Blood Bank Medical Technologist :

  • Perform all blood bank procedures, including ABO / Rh typing, antibody screens, crossmatching, and compatibility testing
  • Analyze and interpret results to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment decisions
  • Maintain and calibrate blood bank equipment and instruments
  • Ensure adherence to all laboratory safety, quality control, and infection prevention protocols
  • Prepare, label, and issue blood components for transfusion according to established procedures
  • Document and maintain accurate test results, quality records, and equipment logs
  • Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance programs
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to provide timely transfusion support

    • Requirements of the Travel Blood Bank Medical Technologist :

  • Active ASCP or AMT certification as a Medical Technologist (MT / MLS)
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of blood bank or transfusion medicine experience
