Engineering Lab Technician

The Engineering Lab Technician supports engineering and product development activities by performing hands-on testing, data collection, equipment setup, and documentation. This role ensures accurate and timely execution of lab tests and experiments, supporting engineering staff in product validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Prepare, set up, and operate laboratory test equipment to support engineering validation and product development.

Conduct mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing on components and assemblies.

Record, analyze, and report test results with accuracy and attention to detail.

Assist engineers in troubleshooting prototypes and production equipment.

Maintain lab equipment, tools, and inventory to ensure availability and reliability.

Follow established test protocols, work instructions, and safety standards.

Assemble and disassemble prototype components for testing and evaluation.

Provide feedback to engineering teams regarding product performance and improvements.

Assist with documentation, including test procedures, work instructions, and technical reports.

Support continuous improvement initiatives within the lab environment.

Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental policies.

Qualifications

Education and Formal Training :

Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field preferred.

Experience :

2+ years of hands-on lab, testing, or technician experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Experience with data acquisition systems and test software preferred.

Familiarity with CAD software (Inventor / SolidWorks) a plus.

ERP system knowledge (SAP preferred) a plus
