Location : 100% remote working CST or MST business hours

Job Description :

We are seeking a Temporary Director of HR Compliance to join our client's team and oversee all aspects of human resources compliance initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR processes, extensive knowledge of employment laws, and the ability to lead compliance efforts across multiple states.

Must Have Experience :

  • 7+ years managing human resources processes and personnel.
  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws including ADA, FMLA, FLSA, Title VII, and more.
  • Experience with minor labor laws.
  • Experience and proficiency with Workday.
  • Strong technical expertise in HR principles and concepts.
  • Experience within a multi-site or franchise industry.
  • Multi-state HR experience including CA.

Responsibilities :

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert of HR Compliance, providing guidance and expertise to the HR team and senior management.
  • Partner with Risk and Legal departments to conduct wage & hour audits and implement necessary actions to ensure compliance.
  • Regulate wage & hour law compliance and proactively identify and resolve any potential violations.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Lead the creation and updating of the Employee Handbook.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to drive decision-making and present findings to senior management.
  • Manage periodic internal reviews, audits, and investigations to ensure compliance with documented processes.
  • Provide consultation and training on compliance related to state and federal labor laws and diversity.
  • Coordinate with Learning and Development to deliver necessary compliance training to employees.
  • Mentor and develop HR team members in the area of compliance.
  • Manage or participate in special projects requiring compliance stakeholder input.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and guide all levels of employees.
  • Ability to manage projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to HR operations.

This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 6 months. This role requires a background check and 2 professional references.
