Transportation Engineering Technician I (Summer Internship Program) District 3
Job Responsibilities
This position will be used to fill multiple positions in the Department of Transportation District 3 Construction and / or Maintenance offices located in Greenville, Spartanburg, Pickens, and Oconee counties.
In the area of Engineering, the responsibilities include :
- Under direct supervision, assists in the areas of surveying, construction, inspection and / or material sampling and testing.
- Assists roadway inspectors in the inspection of roadway construction, including areas of asphalt paving, earthwork, base, drainage operations and concrete placement operations.
- Aids with office duties, preparing construction reports and daily work reports in Site Manager, assists with reconciling quantities to closeout projects.
- Assists survey parties, uses surveying equipment correctly to measure elevation, distance and set vertical and horizontal controls.
Pay rate is between $17.00-$23.00 / per hour depending on qualifications.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
Applicants must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management.
