Malk was an early entrant into this rapidly-evolving industry and continues to be at the forefront of ESG innovation and defining best practices.   Job Description The Climate Project Manager will be the newest leader on Malk Partners’ fastest growing practice area, Carbon and Climate Solutions.

We are seeking someone to lead the delivery of climate solutions engagements to some of North America’s top Private Equity investors and their portfolio companies.

You will work directly with clients and mange project teams to deliver portfolio GHG emissions accounting, conduct Climate risk assessments, and develop decarbonization strategies.

This role will report into the Head of Carbon and Climate Solutions.  We are looking for a candidate who can act as a leader and meaningfully contribute to Malk’s Climate business.  Responsibilities  Project Management –   75% Serve as the project lead for client engagements with colleagues from Malk’s Climate and Portfolio Value Creation teams.

Oversee and manage carbon accounting projects to deliver comprehensive Scope 1-3 carbon emissions inventories using a suite of Malk’s proprietary tools and public data bases.  Guide junior team members through each phase of project delivery.  Manage timelines, provide feedback, and review client deliverables.  Lead client meetings and portfolio roundtables.

Host calls with portfolio company points of contacts to answer questions and act as a trusted advisor.

Design decarbonization plans to be leveraged for setting targets with the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi).

Manage the submission and validation process on behalf of clients.

Join meetings with prospective clients and contribute to business development activates.  Lead the creation of new proposals and pitch materials supported by members across the Malk organization.

Team Building, Innovation, and Strategy – 25% Develop new products and services designed to meet client needs, and align with expectations from regulators, customers, and Limited Partners.  Partner with Malk’s Service Innovation team to integrate AI into project workflows and identify opportunities for automation.  Identify gaps in the Climate strategies of clients’ programs and surface new business opportunities.

Nurture new opportunities from idea to revenue generating projects.  Qualifications Skills :

• Exceptional project management and organizational skills Strong understanding of Scope 1-3 carbon accounting and the GHG Protocol  Demonstrated ability to oversee client engagements, and lead project teams Capacity to collaborate across the organization and work as a team player Ability to interface with clients and host meetings with limited oversight      Experience : 4-6 years of experience working with clients or contributing to climate projects in one of the following capacities, or related : (management consulting, financial services, corporate strategy, carbon / climate software, environmental consulting, or engineering) Experience working with Private Equity a plus Education : BA / BS degree from a reputable college or university Additional Details Location : New York.
