Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program Specialist Responsibilities :
The MAT Program Specialist (MPS) shall be responsible for working with participants by promoting, counseling, and providing consultation and documentation regarding interest in MAT. The MAT Program Specialist shall ensure that those interested in the use of medication assisted treatment shall have opportunity to participate if the participant meets the criteria. The MPS shall follow the direction provided by the Division of Treatment Services (BTS), and direct Supervisor with regards to the MAT program.
Requirements :
I. The MPS shall adhere to all contract and policy stipulations.
II. The MPS shall subscribe to the AOD treatment framework (MET / CBT) and the policies and procedures of the DOC.
III. The MPS shall implement and provide social work, counseling, and case management services to individuals to enhance their social functioning and to help them attain a more satisfactory social, economic, emotional, or physical adjustment.
IV. The MPS shall perform in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures under the general supervision of an administrative supervisor.
V. The MPS shall assess offenders’ psychosocial strengths, weaknesses, and social work service’s needs, and eligibility for services.
VI. The MPS shall assist individuals in recognizing problems and exploring methods for adjusting, modifying, and improving personal and social behavior.
VII. The MPS shall discuss assigned individuals’ psychosocial assessments and family history in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
VIII. The MPS shall ensure needs, benefits, and services are obtained in accordance with assigned individual’s treatment plans.
IX. The MPS shall be responsible for the records, updates, and maintenance of assigned case management files on individual’s progress in meeting treatment plan goals and objectives.
X. The MPS shall confer with facility staff and external agency representatives on discharge plans.
XI. The MPS shall write social services discharge / case closing / transfer plans summarizing individual’s disposition and the need for continued aftercare or follow up services upon discharge.
