Senior Loan Underwriter (Senior Program Manager) - Hybrid | New York

Our client, a not-for-profit mortgage lender dedicated to supporting affordable homeownership in New York, is seeking an experienced Senior Loan Underwriter (Senior Program Manager) to join their Lending / Servicing team. This is a hybrid role intended for candidates within commuting distance of their office.

The ideal candidate will bring deep residential underwriting expertise along with a commitment to supporting homeowners across New York, particularly in underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain established underwriting SLAs and ensure compliance with SONYMA, FNMA, and Freddie Mac guidelines
• Approve, decline, or suspend residential mortgage loan submissions
• Review and validate credit, liabilities, fraud, and property documentation
• Ensure compliance with CFPB, RESPA, TRID, REG Z, and fair lending requirements
• Track and report on end-to-end pipeline management in collaboration with leadership
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to expedite underwriting and closing timelines
• Assist with title corrections, QC checks, and closings as needed
• Provide responsive, professional communication to homeowners, housing counselors, and partners
• Enter accurate data into systems to maintain integrity and compliance
