Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Portland, Oregon 97227

Healthcare Setting : Children's Hospital – Labor & Delivery & Postpartum Units

Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 19 / 2025 – End : 2 / 18 / 2026)

Shift : Night shifts, 12 hours (19 : 00 – 07 : 30), 36 hours / week

Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2050 - $2190

Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a hospital setting

Previous travel nursing experience required

Active Oregon RN license or proof of application / fingerprints (Oregon nursing jobs)

BLS, ACLS, NRP Advanced, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring or Relais Fetal Monitoring certifications

EPIC electronic charting experience required

MFTI Certification preferred

Ability to float within the hospital and across the healthcare system as needed

Willingness to work weekends and holidays as required

No felony background

Recent reference from a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Nurse Manager (within the last year)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to high- and low-risk obstetrical, antepartum, labor, and postpartum patients

Work across labor and postpartum units, including 12 labor beds, 1 triage room, 3 operating rooms, and 24 postpartum beds

Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and obstetrical triage

Perform and assist with procedures such as amnioinfusion, amniocentesis, sterile speculum exams, forceps / vacuum extraction, and spiral electrode placement

Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using EFM and IUPC

Conduct reflex checks, edema assessments, and clonus evaluations

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, and social services

Complete required education and EPIC modules within one week of assignment start

Float to other nursing units as requested
