Finance Director - Trewhela's School Chile
Job Purpose
Nord Anglia Education (NAE) is looking for an experienced Head of Finance to oversee two of its schools, Trewhela's Campus Providencia and Trewhela's Campus Chicureo. This role is ideal for finance professionals comfortable working with key stakeholders such as Principals and Senior Leadership Teams, and who enjoy a broad financial responsibility involving forecasting, cash flow, statutory reporting, commercial success, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all month‑end and statutory accounts for both legal entities.
- Review and improve internal financial and compliance controls, leading group component and local statutory audits.
- Prepare Capex reporting, weekly KPI, and cash‑collection reports.
- Manage the annual financial audit, liaising with internal and external auditors.
- Prepare and present management accounts, financial statements, and reports to the senior leadership team and governors.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management across both colleges.
- Plan short‑ and long‑term finance strategy, including financial scenarios, real‑estate planning, and regional school strategy.
- Implement financial controls to safeguard the school’s assets.
- Ensure local tax compliance.
- Oversee procurement of goods and services, ensuring best value for money.
- Manage supplier contracts and agreements.
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to principals, budget holders, and other internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate data collection for central tax, legal, and treasury teams.
- Liaise with parents, staff, and external stakeholders on financial matters.
- Attend and present at regional financial meetings.
- Collaborate with operations teams on catering, cleaning, and building management procurement.
- Establish and manage AP and AR teams, improving collections and vendor payment processes.
- Prioritise performance management and team development, including training and engagement.
- Identify and implement process improvements across finance functions.
- Maintain awareness of legal and regulatory changes, updating processes, policies, and systems accordingly.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance and timely salary payments.
- Ensure compliance with financial procedures, company law, local law, and accounting standards.
- Maintain and improve the school’s financial accounting systems.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 7 years of accounting and financial leadership, preferably in an educational setting.Statutory compliance experience for both internal and external reporting.Experience with IFRS reporting.International company experience preferred.Experience in reporting and consolidation, business planning, cash‑flow management, and process improvement.Skilled in managing and leading teams.Proficient in accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) and OneStream.Recognised accounting degree, at least a 10‑semester university qualification.Strong IT skills and proficiency in financial management software.Strong Excel skills.Skills / Personal Attributes
