Registered Dietician

A well-established health services facility in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Registered Dietician to join their skilled nursing team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with patients to provide comprehensive nutritional care and education

About the Opportunity :

Shift : Days

Schedule : Monday to Friday (one Saturday per month)

Hours : 9am to 5pm

Setting : Skilled Nursing Facility

Responsibilities :

Screening and assessing patients based on care levels

Determining nutritional needs and providing follow-up care

Interviewing patients and / or families to obtain dietary history

Monitoring and educating about food / drug interactions

Recording interactions in the patient education section of medical charts

Interpreting lab and social data relevant to nutritional care

Consulting with physicians on diet modifications

Modifying patient menus as needed

Qualifications :

Minimum 1 year of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or similar setting

Degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition from an accredited college / university

New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist

Registered Dietitian credentialing (CDR)

Proficiency with EPIC EMR

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Strong multitasking skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Skills :

Master's Degree in a related field

AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

This position is a 13-week contract with the possibility of extension, based on staffing needs. Candidates should be prepared to provide documentation as per compliance requirements prior to start.
