About the Role

Home Equity Lending Specialists are responsible for receiving and evaluating Home Equity loan applications from members nationwide. They work closely with each member to identify the loan product that best fits their needs, then gather required documentation, underwrite the loan, and ensure a smooth closing process in accordance with credit union policies and procedures. Along the way, they offer optional protection products and look for additional opportunities to support members' financial well-being. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role that allows lenders to make a meaningful impact on members' lives, all while being part of a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Interview, solicit, and assist home equity loan applicants and provide information on loan products that best meet the members' needs.
• Actively participates in real estate-related educational opportunities.
• Describing home equity products, terms, requirements, and repayment options available to include non-home equity products that best meet the members' needs.
• Effectively underwrites home equity applications to ensure the members / borrowers qualify and meet the program guidelines and accept the appropriate risk.
