Communication Systems Technician I

Overview

MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Communication Systems Technician I in Jacksonville, FL to support our fast-growing Voice division.

What you will be doing

• Installing, programming, and maintaining complex communication equipment to get customers up and running.
• Repairing systems to restore communications for public safety, hospitals, utilities, manufacturing, and other mission-critical customers.
• Designing and upgrading customer systems to the latest technologies and solutions.
• Collaborating with the team, Service Manager, and customers.
• Demonstrating willingness to learn and be mentored on new technologies in communications and equipment.
• Completing assigned tickets properly and on time.
• Making minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer request and / or deploying factory software / firmware updates.
• Serving in an on-call rotation and providing 24 / 7 technical support.

What you will bring to the team

Your environment and physical requirements

The physical environment requires work inside and outside in heat / cold, wet / humid, and dry / arid conditions. The duties involve frequent standing, walking, sitting; handling objects; climbing stairs; communicating; and lifting up to 50 pounds. PPE may be required. Occasional exposure to potentially hazardous materials and high-stress conditions; ability to read and operate computers; and visual requirements for reading and computer use.

On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.

Travel requirements

Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
