Our Institutional Research Group is seeking an analyst to join our Fund Strategies team, which covers the breadth of private capital markets across fundraising, performance, and thematic research. As part of a small team, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, sharpen your current analytical skills, gain valuable insight into a fascinating industry, and contribute to our best-in-class private capital research. The work produced by this team is used by thousands of private capital investors, investment banks, and service providers worldwide. Primary Job Responsibilities
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics preferred. Progress toward achieving a CFA or CAIA designation a plus. 3+ years of experience in investor relations, deal teams, investment consulting, equity research, investment banking, or other related financial services roles, with a preference for someone with exposure to private capital markets. Strong interest in private financial markets. Familiarity with the investment process and the key stakeholders of the private capital landscape (GPs, LPs, fund types). Thorough understanding of private investment strategies (buyout, VC, private credit), performance and cash flow metrics (IRR, return multiples, time-weighted returns, distributions, NAV, risk-return relationships), and portfolio management (allocations, liquidity, capacity). Knowledge of the secondaries market and evergreen fund structures is a plus. Experience writing long-form data-driven research and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive editorial environment. Critical and analytical thinker. Detail-oriented with an excellence mindset. Superb written and verbal communication skills. Experience in the PitchBook platform and Morningstar Direct is a plus. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including in-depth knowledge of Excel, and the ability to pick up new systems and software easily.
