Content Strategist
Responsibilities
Content Planning & Ideation
Contribute to overall digital content strategy, communication planning, and scoping of content deliverables, aligned with overarching strategy.
Help define how content supports customer life cycle journeys and how it can come to life in phases to support launches and sustained roll-outs.
Develop integrated editorial calendars to guide content production – including ongoing ideation sessions to keep content fresh and timely.
Continue building momentum by researching trends, seasonal content, etc. for monthly refreshes.
Develop strategically-informed creative ideas, content topics, and visual concepts together with the design/content team that are specifically tailored to the strategy and a full channel approach.
Act as a key player in creative brainstorms. Actively and consistently share and spark creative thinking among the teams by sharing relevant creative work or ideas as inspiration for our existing/potential client work. Proactively identify and propose creative ideas/tactics that could help drive performance across existing channels.
Help develop and present creative concepts either as part of presentations or ongoing client content calendars that can be reviewed and approved internally/by our clients
Assist with formulation of content style guides and look-and-feel playbooks that align with branding and business goals, as well as best practices for amplification of content across various channels
Content Production & Coordination
Help oversee content production of all content assets, including video, visual storytelling, and interactive design
Help manage content creation to support paid and organic traffic, build SEO authority, and generate brand awareness and engagement.
Help collaborate on the process of social/mobile/digital content production from pre-production to in-production to post-production alongside wider account team
Develop creative/project briefs to guide content development, including alignment with internal and external stakeholders. Work with Account Leads, Strategists or Content Managers to clarify/crystalize client creative briefs.
Oversee content production, client reviews (including legal), and publishing – ensuring all content is on brand and on strategy and helping to ensure message and topic consistency across channels.
Produce various types of content at every stage of the conversion funnel: articles, blog, video, visual storytelling, general web and app content, etc.
Help manage internal content teams, coordinate with partner channel teams, and interface with the client.
Coordinate with SEO and across channels: website, app, organic social, email, paid media, etc. for multidimensional storytelling approach. Includes identification of creative requirements across these channels to enable integrated thinking and execution.
Be able to provide directions to photographers/videographers and develop organized shot lists for upcoming client photoshoots.
Assist and support the account/project management teams in ensuring that the time allocated toward creative resources within our scopes of work is feasible and profitable.
Content Optimization
Ensure that content assets are conversion oriented with strong calls-to-action and actionable KPIs.
Coordinate with data team on performance metrics (from lead capture to engagement to conversion) to aim for continual optimization and iterative refinement of content.
Synchronize destination content, landing pages, and traffic-driving channels with test-and-learn methodologies and A/B testing.
Partnerships, Tech & Tools
Seek out and propose tech/tools to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness across the production process.
Proactively identify and share or pursue potential content partnership opportunities where relevant.
People Management
Build and nurture strong, positive, and collaborative working relationships with your direct manager, other seniors, peers and juniors across the social and content team as well as wider agency/network.
Take on a mentorship role for members of the social/content team, helping teach and upskill them across your areas of expertise.
Desired Attributes
Experience executing in the sweet spot between performance-driving marketing, creative storytelling, and brand building.
Conversant with developing authentic, personalized content experiences that align with customer values and utilizes effective storytelling techniques and compelling visuals. Experience producing relatable videos, immersive digital stories and infographics, as well as influencer and customer-generated content.
Experience with video content production and versioning for multiple channels.
Nice-to-have: familiar with personalization of content, AI-generated content, and machine learning to optimize content delivery and volume.
5-7 years industry experience (a background in building content platforms for bigger brands a plus)
