We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Legal Billing Specialist in Kansas City Metro. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal billing and a working knowledge of 3E Software.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoice Preparation & Review
- Create and review client invoices in customized formats based on specific requirements from clients and Billing Attorneys.
- Billing Adjustments
- Perform override calculations and make necessary changes to invoices in accordance with client and attorney instructions.
- Payment Reconciliation
- Assist in identifying and reconciling payments received, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Aging & Collections Monitoring
- Proactively monitor unbilled fees, costs, and accounts receivable (A / R) for assigned Billing Attorneys. Collaborate to resolve aged items.
- Attorney Collaboration
- Partner with Billing Attorneys to address outstanding billing issues and support collection efforts on behalf of the Accounting department.
- Budget Support
- Assist in the preparation of client budgets and provide reporting and analysis as needed.
- System Utilization
- Use billing software (e.g., 3E) to maintain records, generate reports, and support billing operations.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Generate and modify reports from the billing system. Prepare statistical data and financial summaries as requested.
- Client Communication
- Liaise with clients regarding billing deadlines, rate inquiries, and concerns related to billing statements.
- Data Management
- Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual billing and rate data. Ensure accuracy in billing and payment records, including write-offs.
- Compliance & Accuracy
- Master client billing guidelines and ensure all work aligns with firm policies and procedures.
- Special Projects
- Support ad hoc requests and special projects from Billing Attorneys and supervisors, including financial analysis and report creation.

$65,000 - $75,000 / YearlyBenefits
