Job descriptionPerform comprehensive evaluations on each patient and design individualized treatment programs. Guide patients suffering from injury or disease towards full restoration of function. Improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. Promote patients' overall fitness and health. Work collaboratively within health-care teams. Practice within the scope of New York State Law. Work as part of multidisciplinary treatment teams. Supervise physical therapy assistants and technicians. Handle heavy lifting, pushing / pulling, and patient positioning as required. Expect exposure to workplace hazards such as bodily fluids in contact with inpatient / outpatient populations. Use Meditech as the electronic medical record system.
