We began in 1924 when Alfred Fain opened a small tire store in Rhode Island. Nearly 100 years later, we’re a privately held, family-led custom compounder with nine U.S. sites and operations in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China. What will I work on?
- Keeping people safe by following every safety rule and procedure.
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical / mechanical issues on pumps, motors, gearboxes, plastic extruders, and other production equipment.
- Maintaining robots and robot cells, including associated equipment.
- Performing PMs and closing work orders in our CMMS.
- Coaching entry-level teammates while working independently with minimal supervision.
- Using meters and other electrical test gear to diagnose circuit and equipment problems.
- Sizing / installing conduit, conductors, breakers, fuses, starters, motors, etc., per the National Electrical Code.
- Calibrating and documenting instrumentation, scales, and balances.
- Building / wiring control cabinets from drawings and schematics.
- Troubleshooting AC / DC motors and variable frequency drives.
- Understanding PLC operation and troubleshooting via ladder logic.
- Reading and applying electrical schematics, manuals, and technical bulletins.
- Operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts; using shop equipment and hand tools.
- Planning / organizing work, meeting timelines, and maintaining excellent housekeeping.
- Occasionally driving a company vehicle / truck (valid driver’s license required).
- Pitching in with other related duties as needed.
What qualifications do I need?
2+ years of relevant experience and an Associate’s degree in a related field, or equivalent education / experience mix.Electrical license preferred.High school diploma or GED.Ability to read safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write reports / correspondence ; and communicate effectively.What about physical demands?
Lift / carry up to 50 lbs.Talk, listen, and communicate clearly.How is the role compensated?
$25.00 – $41.00 per hour, based on experience, plus a $4 off-shift premium.
