Summary of Key Responsibilities : Manage BAU (Business As Usual) Service Delivery for Mainframe OS / Storage in a Technical Capacity. This is a pure Technical Hands-On role and not for a Team Lead Position.

Mainframe Storage Administrator
Responsibilities
- Manage BAU (Business As Usual) Service Delivery for Mainframe OS / Storage in a technical capacity.
- Work daily with client / customer Mainframe OS-Storage SMEs / Peers.
- Handle Major Incidents (MI) / Priority-1 (P1) and lesser Tickets as part of BAU Support.
- Work on Problem / RCA and Change / CMR Tickets during weekends.
- Provide Business hours support and then On-Call support as per BAU Service Delivery norms.
- Support Mainframe Projects (HW Upgrade, OS Upgrade, ISV Products upgrades, etc.) as needed.
- Aim for Mainframe System Availability at 99.99% and meet agreed SLAs.
- Perform DASD-related activities : monitor, support, maintain DASD tools, manage storage performance, allocate and initialize DAS volumes, data set / volume placement, DASD resource efficiency, standards, space requirements, DASD pooling structures, catalog management, and data migration management.
- Provide support for all DASD-related problems and perform regular DASD backups.
- Plan Hardware EOL Life Cycle management and Upgrades.
- Perform BAU and Project-related Mainframe OS / Storage activities and manage Virtual Tape Library.
- Storage replication Setup across sites (inter-data center).
Qualifications
Experience to monitor, support and maintain mainframe DASD tools; monitor storage performance; manage DASD volumes and data placement; maintain DASD standards; plan space requirements.Design, implement, and maintain DASD pooling structures; perform catalog management; data migration management; DR setup and DR drills.Hands-on experience with z14 / z15 / z16 Mainframe hardware and Sysplex Setup.Knowledge of z / OS v2.x, JES2, DFSMS, VTAM, RACF / ACF2, TCP / IP, OMVS, RMF / SMF.Experience with SMP / E, ISV products, UserMods and Exits; IPL / POR procedures; Mainframe consoles; Mainframe tools (OMEGAMON, TEPS, Netview, SIEM).Assembler, REXX, JCL; CA-OPS / MVS Automation; IODF / IOCDS, HCD / HCM; capacity planning and performance tuning; PARMLIB / PROCLIB; memory regions customization.Experience in Disaster Recovery and DR drills; MIPS optimization and software rationalization.Hands-on experience with Hitachi VSP 5500, IBM DS8000, IBM TS7000, EMC-VMAX / PowerMax & DLm hardware; IBM Metro / Global Mirror; Copy Services; EMC-SRDF; EMC-GDDR; DFSMS suite; CA-1, IBM CSM; Flash Copy, BCV-SnapVX, zDP, SGC; storage replication across sites.Broad understanding of storage and mainframe OS / storage integration and ongoing BAU activities.Salary
Salary Range - $100,000-$120,000 per year
