Job Description

Job Description

Quality Electrical Systems (QES) is a leading manufacturer of custom-engineered electrical distribution solutions, serving commercial, industrial, energy / infrastructure, and utility clients nationwide. Our product lines include low-, medium-, and high-voltage switchgear, power distribution centers (PDCs), E-Houses, motor control centers (MCCs), and variable frequency drive (VFD) systems.

We are committed to delivering high-quality, reliable products and continuously improving our manufacturing and quality systems. As we grow, we're looking for a proactive and skilled Quality Engineer to join our team.

________________________________________________________

Position Overview

As a Quality Engineer at QES, you will help ensure our manufacturing processes consistently produce top-quality electrical systems and components. You’ll play a vital role bridging quality assurance and process engineering, using data analysis, quality tools, and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement, process stability, and product excellence throughout production.

_______________________________________________________

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects, improving yield, and enhancing process performance — applying Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured methodologies.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process and quality improvements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain process control plans, PFMEAs, capability studies (Cp, Cpk), and other quality documentation to ensure stable and capable manufacturing processes.
  • Manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) systems — drive root cause analysis, validate effectiveness of fixes, and implement long-term process or product improvements.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, supply chain, and design teams to develop and qualify new or modified products / processes.
  • Support internal and external audits, help ensure compliance with quality-management standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and customer-specific requirements. Engineer Fix+2BPRHub+2
  • Mentor and support Quality Technicians and production operators in best practices for inspections, quality tools, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Act as a liaison between Quality and Engineering / Production for design changes, process validations, risk assessments, and nonconformance resolution.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to evaluate nonconforming products, recommend dispositions, and implement data-driven corrective actions.

________________________________________________________

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline or equivalent applicable experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or process-engineering environment (ideally in an ISO 9001–certified organization). Indeed+1
  • Strong understanding of core quality tools and methodologies (FMEA / PFMEA, SPC, MSA, CAPA / 8D / Root Cause Analysis). Gridon Systems+2JRG Partners LLC+2
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other structured continuous-improvement frameworks is preferred. TimesPro+1
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, schematics, bills of materials, and process specifications.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or equivalent statistical software).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and present findings / recommendations clearly.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with manufacturing equipment, electrical components, and standard safety protocols.
  • ____________________________________________________

    Skills & Competencies

  • Data-driven mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ability to balance hands-on problem-solving and process troubleshooting with big-picture systems thinking.
  • Strong facilitation and mentoring skills — able to guide and support technicians and operators.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration, conflict resolution, and change management.
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and dedication to quality and safety.
  • _______________________________________________

    Work Environment

  • Work will be based in a manufacturing facility producing electrical systems — switchgear, PDCs, E-Houses, and related products.
  • Exposure to production equipment, electrical components, and assembly / testing processes.
  • Typical schedule : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM (or standard business hours).
  • _____________________________________________

    Why QES?

  • Be part of a company that designs and builds custom electrical solutions across low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems — offering variety, challenge, and growth.
  • Work with skilled professionals in a collaborative, quality-driven culture that values continuous improvement and craftsmanship.
  • Contribute directly to products serving commercial, industrial, energy, utility, and infrastructure markets.
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • ________________________________________
