Must-Have :

• Competent respiratory skills for delivering respiratory care
• Ability to float between ER and inpatient units

Description :

Position involves providing care for patients in the Emergency Room.

RNs are expected to manage respiratory care using equipment such as Hamilton for high-flow / BiPAP / ventilation.

Candidates should ideally have both inpatient medical-surgical / telemetry and emergency room experience, but this is not mandatory.

Candidates with only Emergency Room experience will be considered, and training for inpatient care will be provided.

Perform nursing duties during night shifts, which include a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5 patients.

Must be willing to provide coverage for holidays, including either Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Floating between Emergency Room and inpatient units is required based on scheduling needs.

Candidates should have experience in a variety of emergency medical situations and possess strong assessment skills.

Charting will be done using a specified electronic health record system.

Exposure to diverse patient demographics including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics is expected.

Daily census and patient care will be managed within a small acute care environment.

Collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams including respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy is essential.

Candidates must complete required training modules prior to starting in the role.

Professional conduct standards must be adhered to throughout the assignment to ensure a positive environment.
